Unprofessional Staff & Unclear Policies Marred Our Stay (Avoid!)

We recently booked a four-night stay (May 14th-18th) at Fairmont Fujairah through Zenhotels.com. Upon arrival, we were met with disappointment as the hotel staff (specifically Ms. Reem at reception) informed us our reservation was cancelled by our "travel agent" without any further explanation. After significant effort contacting Zenhotels (over 4 hours with 7 emails), we discovered the following: The hotel reception staff cancelled the booking upon noticing my Emirates ID, believing the discounted rate was not applicable to residents. There was a complete lack of transparency. They never informed us of the cancellation reason, simply stating it was done by our "travel agent." The duty manager, Mr. Emin, initially displayed unprofessional behavior. When we clarified our residency status, he requested a copy of my passport and then made a sarcastic remark regarding the validity of the rate. This situation caused significant inconvenience and wasted valuable vacation time. While the hotel eventually admitted to the cancellation, the lack of staff training, unclear resident policies, and unprofessional behavior left us feeling frustrated and unwelcome. Recommendation: We strongly advise potential guests to be aware of potential confusion regarding resident eligibility for rates. It's best to clarify this directly with the hotel before booking to avoid a similar experience. We also recommend the hotel improve staff training on guest communication and resident policies. Please note: This review reflects our personal experience and may not be representative of all guests. By posting this review, we hope to raise awareness for other travelers and encourage the hotel to improve their guest experience.

Had a week vacation and rally loved the time here. It’s nice place to relax) my room with a big bath and king-size bed was beautiful. And I liked the sea view! Thanks a lot to the Fairmont Fujairah beach resort stuff team. Ragil and Alexandra at the reception were so kind and asked all my questions during the day) Ali is the best concierge! Big thanks to Sakumar for the room cleaning and towel animals😅 and i was glad to see and talk to Karuna in the restaurant every breakfast) And I loved the aqua aerobic and yoga classes) I will definitely come back♥️

Amazing staff very relaxing

We went away for a very quiet week away and this hotel was perfect. The adults only pool was perfect even the buffet restaurant and lava restaurant were calm and peaceful. The beach is nice and sea is calm if you like beaches. It rained one day and I had a massage and facial in the spa which is beautiful. They had a special offer on not sure I would have gone if not. My therapist was Wayan and she was brilliant. What really makes this hotel is the staff who are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The bar man Bhargjav was always over asking us if we needed drinks and always knew what we wanted and at lunch Malika was always friendly as were the Breakfast and dinner team. The staff were really five star. The food was also very nice with good choices. I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing week of doing nothing at all but chilling. We took off one star as we felt some of the areas of the building were a little tired and needed some tlc.
